Our Commitment to Excellence

At Alfheim–Andromeda Chihuahuas, we are an ethical, small-scale breeder and exhibitor based in Rome, NY, dedicated to the health, structure, and emotional well-being of every Chihuahua we raise.
All of our adults are O.F.A. certified for heart, patellas, and eyes, and Embark DNA tested for over 200 genetic conditions before breeding. Every pairing is evaluated through our proprietary BreedGuru™ genetic system, which combines science, health data, and conformation analysis to make data-driven breeding decisions that strengthen future generations.
As proud members of the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program and the Chihuahua Club of America, where we serve on the Health Committee, we are dedicated to advancing the breed through education, ethical conduct, and transparency. We are also leading ongoing research into CM/SM (Chiari-like Malformation and Syringomyelia) in Chihuahuas, collaborating with veterinary professionals and neurologists to identify risk factors and improve long-term outcomes for the breed.
We offer lifelong support for every family that joins our program and remain devoted to producing healthy, confident, and well-socialized companions. Our reputation is built on integrity, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to bettering the Chihuahua—body, mind, and spirit.

" At A & A’s Chihuahuas, we believe that every generation should be healthier and more resilient than the last. Our program is built on transparency, science, and compassion—combining OFA and Embark testing with our proprietary BreedGuru™ system to make data-driven breeding decisions.
We’re proud members of the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. program and the Chihuahua Club of America Health Committee, leading research into CM/SM (Chiari-like Malformation and Syringomyelia) to improve long-term outcomes for the breed.
Our standards go far beyond what’s required—covering health certifications, genetic diversity, lifelong support, and responsible breeding practices that preserve the integrity of the Chihuahua.
