At Alfheim–Andromeda Chihuahuas, puppies are placed thoughtfully and intentionally. We do not sell puppies on a first-come basis, and we do not reserve specific puppies before they are developmentally evaluated. Our process prioritizes health, suitability, and long-term success for both the puppy and the home.

Please review the steps below carefully before applying.

Step 1: Application & Approval

​

All prospective homes must complete an application and receive approval before being considered for placement.

Approval confirms that:

• expectations are aligned

• care standards are appropriate

• your home may be considered for placement

Approval does not guarantee a puppy and does not reserve a specific puppy.

Step 2: Placement Waitlist & Placement Deposit

​

Approved families who wish to be considered for upcoming puppies or eligible adults must join our Placement Waitlist by submitting a Placement Deposit.

Placement Deposit Details

• Placement Deposit Amount: 40% of the average puppy price

• Application of Deposit: The Placement Deposit is fully applied to the final purchase price once a puppy sale is completed

• Purpose: Reserves placement opportunity, not a specific puppy

• Duration: Valid for up to one (1) year from the date of deposit

• Order: Placement consideration is based on suitability and breeder evaluation, not first-come or fastest payment

The Placement Deposit:

• confirms serious intent to proceed with placement

• compensates the breeder for allocation and planning

• does not guarantee a specific puppy, timing, sex, color, or size

Breeder selection always occurs first to ensure health, structure, and temperament.

If no suitable placement occurs within the one-year period, or if placement cannot be completed due to circumstances beyond either party’s control, the Placement Deposit remains transferable within that one-year timeframe, as outlined in the Placement Deposit Agreement.

 

The Placement Deposit is not an additional fee. It is credited toward the total purchase price when a puppy goes home.

Step 3: Puppy Evaluation (3–4 Weeks of Age)

​

Puppies are not offered for placement until approximately 3–4 weeks of age, once early health, development, and viability can be reasonably assessed.

Before this stage:

• no puppy is reserved

• no specific placement offers are made

• breeder evaluation must occur first

This protects both the puppy and the buyer.

Step 4: Placement Offer & Acceptance

​

Once puppies have been evaluated, suitable puppies are offered to families on the Placement Waitlist.

When a placement offer is accepted:

• the Placement Deposit is applied toward that puppy’s purchase price

• the puppy is removed from availability

• a Purchase Agreement is prepared

Declining a placement offer does not forfeit the Placement Deposit, provided the one-year placement period has not expired.

Step 5: Final Payment & Go-Home

​

After placement is accepted:

• the remaining balance of the purchase price is due one (1) week before the puppy goes home

• ownership transfers only when the buyer takes physical possession of the puppy

A puppy sale is considered complete only at possession.

Pricing

Puppy prices typically range from $3,700 to $5,700, depending on lineage, health testing, and individual factors.

The 40% Placement Deposit is applied to the final purchase price, and the remaining balance is paid prior to go-home.
